Citizen initiative via Thea Garing on Facebook. She just came from CANOSSA ACADEMY-Lipa City.
Announcement: The Canossa Academy evacuation center will only be “officially” open until tomorrow, January 18. All donation surplus will be turned over and distributed to other evacuation centers. They are still collecting donations but pressing non-food needs are the following:
a. Banig
b. Blanket
c. Pillows
d. Underwear
They have received a lot of clothes, but priority need is for clothes for men and boys.
For ready-to-eat meals/drinks, at present, there are 32 in-house evacuees at the school gymnasium.

Citizen initiative: Volunteers at Lipa Cathedral have decided to sew pillows and blankets for evacuees. They are calling for the following donations:
Retasong tela
Surplus donated clothes
Portable sewing machine
Scissors
Sewing materials

Drop off point:
Lipa City Cathedral. Tell the guard the donations are for pillows and blankets.
Volunteers can proceed to the Assembly Hall beside the Cathedral.

The Serve the People Brigade of UPLB is calling for volunteers and donations of the following:
beddings (banig, blankets, karton)
ready-to-eat food
over-the-counter medicines (for diarrhea, colds, fever, etc.)
adult and children’s diapers
bottled water
Volunteers who are joining distribution operations in Cavite and Batangas should bring extra clothes and toiletries.

The Department of Health is asking for assistance on acquiring portalets for the evacuation centers. As per DOH count, there are 87,000 evacuees in 276 evacuation centers in four provinces.

Citizen initiative: Bangon Batangas Tanaun has started relief operations to serve the areas in Tanauan that have been overlooked and underserved, with some towns not getting any relief goods since the Taal eruption.

On January 16, Dasmarinas Cavite’s barangay covered courts have taken in evacuees. They call for the following donations:
cooking condiments and spices (soy sauce, sugar, salt, cooking oil)

Barangay Captain Jocelyn Bayanay on Facebook called for assistance for her town San Nicolas in Batangas, as well as for Pulang Bato. They are right at the foot of the volcano, and were unable to save any of their belongings, and relief goods have yet to reach them.
